Why I shoot boudoir
Ahhhh the big question! Why, out of all the types of photography, did I choose boudoir. Well, since as long as I can remember, arts have been a big part of my life. As a young kid, my older brother and my mom taught me how to draw and I could spend hours trying to get better and better. I remember drawing portraits of my friends and would get so excited at their reactions when I would give them the finished images. Eventually my father bought me my first camera and the creating continued, always taking portraits of my family and friends to make them feel beautiful.
That led me to enroll in a photography program at La Cité Collégiale. I graduated from my photography program in 2008 and I've since shot wedding, families, animals, nature, products and even real estate. From trying all these types, I had really found a niche in lifestyle portraits and started shooting more of what I loved.
Unfortunately, the comment I got the most from female clients before shoots was that they thought they were unphotogenic, a term that should not even exist. Even as a kid, I had a hard time understanding why my mother took so much time every morning to try to look perfect when I already thought she was the prettiest. And later on, I felt very saddened when my own wife and mother of our two children started saying the same thing about her transformed body after carrying our kids. I wished she could see herself the way I, and many others, see her.
And so began a new chapter in my photographic journey and a much happier one at that. I'm leaving my full time government job behind to continue what made me so happy as a kid, making people love themselves the way they are. I am on a mission to ensure each person that walks through my door exits feeling empowered, beautiful, sexy, and confident. You will leave my studio embracing your body's uniqueness and forever be photogenic!
